Gourmet Food Gifts
Gourmet
food gifts do not have to cost you an arm and a leg. The truth is, if
you put together your own gourmet food gifts instead of buying a pre-made
basket, you can save a lot of money. Here are some other tips to help
you ensure that you give a wonderful gourmet food gift… without
spending a lot of time or money.
· Wine – any basic gift can feel “gourmet”
if a bottle of wine is included. You do not have to give the most expensive
bottle of wine. In fact, feel free to pick out one of the bottles that
is on sale! Pick out a bottle based on its label, even (if you are giving
a bottle of wine to any wine lover who is not an absolute connoisseur,
you can be sure your gift will be appreciated). Pair it with a fun bottle
stopper.
· Spaghetti basket – grab a jar of your favorite spaghetti
sauce, throw in some healthy whole wheat pasta, some chocolate bars,
some parmesan cheese, crackers, olives, and a bottle of wine. Wrap it
all up in a basket, and you have got yourself a fine gourmet food gift.
· Date basket – give this gourmet food gift to anyone who
is trying to woo his or her partner! Place in it something in line with
the spaghetti basket mentioned above, but include small bottles of champagne
and glasses, and a movie or movie tickets.
· Gourmet chocolate – forget about the other foods, create
a gift that is full of chocolates. You can even create a dark chocolate
sample with 50% to 90% cocoa content. You can choose some basic chocolate
bars, like Hershey’s, and/or you can go to a specialty food market
and get some of the expensive chocolate bars, ones that people rarely
buy for themselves.
· Gourmet cheese – give a cutting board with 3 or so cheeses
on it. Who doesn’t love cheese?
· Exotic fruit basket – pineapple, mangoes, pomegranate,
papaya, grapefruit – gather the best fruit in season and display
it in a basket. This is a delicious and healthful gift.
Just remember that gourmet does not mean expensive. The truth is, you
can create gourmet food gifts that fall within your budget. Just think
of what the recipient would most appreciate, and go from there.
